You stand before a small slice of Australian wilderness, entrusted to your care and brimming with potential. Heaps of litter mar the landscape, waiting to be cleared. A once-majestic mango tree yearns to bear fruit again, its branches aching for the playful chatter of animals in its shade. Your mission is to breathe new life into this patch of nature through a competitive card drafting game. On each turn, you and your fellow players simultaneously select a card from your individual hands, then pass the rest to the next player.

The twist: each card you choose has two halves. You’ll tuck one half under your board, removing it from the game, while the other remains visible to score points. This adds a layer of strategy, as you must consider not only which halves to use for yourself, but also which to deny your opponents. When all cards have been played, the player who has created the most vibrant and point-rich ecosystem around their mango tree wins.

Welcome to the Roaring 20s! Try to attract the trendiest Dinos to your glamorous party.

Each round, you bid on a Dino or pass. As every Dino has different preferences, you need either the right snacks to convince it or splendid gems to bribe it. The highest bid wins the Dino, while the other players pick a new Bid card from the display. Those who pass earlier have a wider selection to choose from. Think carefully about how to bid and when to pass.

Your goal is to have the most victory points at the end of the game. You earn points for each individual Dino, as well as for pairs and triplets. You also try to collect Dinos with consecutive numbers, as these sequences score extra points.

If you make clever bids, occasionally pass at the right moment, and get the most valuable guests, you’ll be crowned the ultimate prehistoric party animal!

Roaring 20s will be released at SPIEL and follow quickly in retail, so keep an eye out!

The long wait is almost over and Civolution is on its way! You can now pre-order the game (English or German version) to pick it up at SPIEL ’24 in Essen. Pre-orders close on September 24th, so don’t wait too long if you’d like to secure a copy.

Pre-order here: https://deep-print-games.com/civolution/

What is Civolution, tell me more?! It’s the new game designed by Stefan Feld, but we’ll let Agera, the AI, tell you more:

Hello, student beings! The cosmic faculty of the Technical Academy of Creation is delighted to welcome you to your Civolution, the final exam in Civilization Design!

For this occasion, we prepared a humanoid scenario on an isolated continent. Here, each of you holds the rank of a local deity which is closely linked to its very own civilization and must lead it to success over the other civilizations. Your developmental possibilities are endless and reach from cultural and technical progress to evolutional adaptations. For example, what would you consider more beneficial to your tribes: inventing the wheel or growing wings? Demonstrate your ability to operate your civilization console and show us how well you can adjust to changeable environmental conditions and mild creational chaos.
When the exam ceases after four eras, whoever managed to gather the most success points will not only pass the exam but will become a full member of the Technical Academy of Creation and garner the opportunity to be promoted to the next instance.

Civolution is a medium heavy to heavy euro-style game that utilizes a dice selection mechanism to trigger actions on a tech tree-like structure. As you figure out how to best use your dice and put your unique cards into play, tons of strategies and paths to victory emerge, though each time you play, you will only explore a fraction of the possibilities that the game’s system and many cards provide.

Want to learn more? We’ve got interviews, introductions to each module of the game, playthroughs, rule videos, and more lined up for you right here.

For countless years, the Café de Paris has offered moments of carefree relaxation and a wonderful opportunity to pause and breathe amid a bustling city. Unfortunately, the café must close for emergency renovation. You have been asked to redesign the valuable parquet floor, embellishing it with stylish intarsias. In a contest, you must prove that you understand your craft better than your competitors. If you manage to build the most valuable ornaments and still make good progress, you’ll be able to claim new tools and have a shot at securing the contract for the intricate inlay work.

In Intarsia, players compete for the contract for the coveted redesign work on the parquet, embellishing it with stylish intarsias. To win the contract, players have to prove their skills by refining the floor with stylish inlays and outdoing their competitors with new tools.

Each floor ornament can consist of one to four filigree wooden elements that are puzzled together from the outside inwards. The more pieces the ornament consists of, the more victory points it scores! During the building phase, wooden elements can be paid for with material cards and built according to the building rules. Whoever fulfills the requirement for a tool receives the tile that scores points. Only the person with the best building skills can secure the contract and give the café a new lease of life! The B-side of the floor plan offers variation for this clever and high-quality placement game.

Intarsia will be released in October.

Happy International Women’s Day! And to celebrate, here’s a comic about a game that is designed and illustrated by women!

In the oceans around the equator, a beautiful habitat shines with bright colors. Coral reefs are underwater ecosystems and are home to many species. However, as a result of global warming, reefs have been declining massively in recent decades and it is up to us to protect them to keep them alive!

In LUMICORA you gather colorful coral tiles and use them to construct new reefs that grow in all directions. You need to stack your coral tiles strategically and also consider the sea creatures that live in the reef. Limestone serves as the foundation of your reef, so it’s important to ensure that you always have enough limestone available. The game lasts for 10 rounds. At the end of each round, you can score points for a single type of coral. Strategize and build your reef to win!

LUMICORA is a fascinating three-dimensional tile-laying game that relies on clever planning and timing. Alternative backs with new challenges increase the replay value even more.

The game will be out in late spring this year.

In the summer of 1972, the final match of the World Chess Championship in Reykjavik saw the ultimate showdown: US American Bobby Fischer challenged the reigning world champion Boris Spassky from the Soviet Union. Touted by the media as the most important sporting event of the Cold War, an incomparable thriller unfolded …and now, you can be right in the middle of it.

In Match of the Century – just as in a real championship match – you play one another over a series of games. However, here each game only lasts a few short and intense turns, so every decision counts in pulling off the win. As you play cards with unique effects from your asymmetrical decks, each of you manipulates the mental endurance of the other and the outcome of each quick game. But weigh your options carefully, because only by giving up the advantage can you use your cards effects.

This tactical card game for 2 players captures the spirit of the famous chess match of 1972. Prevailing over your opponent by triggering your cards’ effects at just the right moment is a very rewarding challenge.

Welcome architects, a new challenge is waiting for you! Five towers are waiting to be built, each of them with a very unique appearance. But the battle for the components is tough! Bid smart to get the most cards to build impressive towers.

Each round you make an open bid to get cards from a display of 5. But be careful – you may only bid for cards that you can actually install. Whoever submits the highest bid takes that amount of cards and builds their towers. Towers must be built in a certain order, starting with the cards with the higher number at the bottom. There are some special cards that give you more options. At the end of the game you score points for each card in your towers and if you managed to get a spire card you can even double the points for that tower.

5 Towers is an entertaining card game that is all about clever planning and never taking your eyes off your fellow players. Thanks to its simple rules, 5 Towers enables a quick start, high replay value and offers one or the other visual Easter egg for fans of movies and series.

As the morning sun tentatively rises above the high moor, its light filters through the remaining mist. The ground beneath the swaying, ancient trees is a haven for specialized animals and plants, making this an important place for our environment.

Bring life to your own little moor by populating it with various plants and animals. Form a clever network of waterways to “drift” your plant markers to the right places. Only then can you play the most rewarding cards into your moor and create a better ecosystem than your opponents.

By purchasing this game, you support environmental protection projects around the globe.

Moorland is a game for 2 to 4 players from the age of 10 and despite the „romantic“ nature theme, quite tricky. Due to its modular tiles, it has a high replay value and offers many different variations to try. Designed by Steffen Bogen and illustrated by Annika Heller, it’s published by Deep Print Games and Pegasus Spiele this October.

Triqueta is a competitive game for 2-5 players from the age of 7 with the goal of collecting exactly 3 identical animal tokens of each type of animal to form a perfect Triqueta, an ancient symbol with 3 interlaced arcs.

But be careful, if you get too greedy and collect 4 or more tokens of the same animal, you will only lose points at the end.
Find the perfect balance between pushing your luck and making it harder for your opponents! Depending on the group of players, Triqueta can either be a fun, lightweight family game or get really competitive and heated in the battle for the best animal collection. Celtic inspired, Triqueta is a game by Deep Print Games, designed by Ralf zur Linde and Stefan Dorra, illustrated by Annika Heller.

It will arrive in stores in early Q2 this year, published in Germany with Pegasus Spiele and France with Gigamic first.
