We hope you’ve all had lovely Xmas days and we’d like to wish you all the very best for 2022! ๐ We hope you get to play a lot of games and spend time in good company.ย
Personally, we’ve had a rough week which also concerns one of our Semi Co-op characters. Starbuck has fallen ill and it’s uncertain for how much longer she’ll be with us. We’ll have to see in the coming days if the prescribed “divine intervention” medication will work since there’s still a very tiny chance it might not be a malignant tumor but an infection. If not, we will have to let her go, and knowing this has been really hard on us, so games have not really been on our minds as you can imagine. ๐ At this point, we’re spoiling her to bits and giving her all the cuddles and love we can and are so grateful for our time together.
We had some distractions during Christmas day and Rachel played a lot of Yummy Yummy Monster Tummy with her nephews. The game is completely unplayable for colorblind people, so it’s definitely not for Heinze. :’) We’ve written our first impression on our Instagram account if you’re interested! The kids really adored it and had a lot of fun.
And we received a lot of new games! Dutch publisher 999 Games sent us a box full of goodies as a Christmas surprise and also included Spicy, Clever and Don Juan. These are about the level games we can mentally take on right now, so we already played the “classic” Ganz Schรถn Clever and Spicy. Most of you will already know the original game Clever, but we’ve only played a few times and didn’t own a copy. We also played Spicy and we love the stylized looks of this little bluffing game. You can read more about it on our Insta!
And from Board & Dice we received a copy of Origins: First Builders and their new game Tabannusi: Builders of Ur. We’ve heard a lot of good things about Origins already and are really curious about Builders of Ur. Although we don’t have the headspace for it now, we do hope to sit down soon and play them.

And Happy Holidays to you too!
But are those suicidal meeple ornaments real? Cause those would look nice hanging in our tree.

I just caught up with all the online comics, thanks!
